Rev. Stephanie Scovell is the Lead Minister for the parish.

Pastor Stephanie has been serving Good Shepherd Church since July 2020 when she, her husband Jason, and their two dogs moved to the Cleveland area from Texas for Jason to begin his residency program at Cleveland Clinic.

Stephanie received her Bachelor of Arts in Religion, with a minor in Child and Family Studies, at Baylor University before attending Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University where she obtained her Master of Divinity.

Prior to serving Good Shepherd, Stephanie served for five years as Associate Pastor at Bering Memorial United Methodist Church in Houston, Texas. Her role there began on staff the year before she was appointed when she was brought on board to restart their children’s ministry
and their young adult ministry. When she was commissioned (provisionally ordained), the church created an associate role for her to continue and to grow her role. Over those next five years, she had the opportunity to continue leading the ministries she began, while also overseeing local and national missions, overseeing their young adult ministry programming, writing liturgy for worship, leading in worship, starting a dinner church service, and whatever else came her way.

Since she has been at Good Shepherd, Stephanie and Jason have welcomed two little girls, Hannah and Chloe. They look forward to raising them in the Good Shepherd family.

Dr. Allan Georgia is the Associate Minister for the parish.

Pastor Allan has previously served at Methodist congregations in Florida and near Columbus, Ohio. Most recently he served as
Director of Religious Education at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Cleveland. Pastor Allan also teaches at colleges and universities from time to time, and most recently has taught at Case Western Reserve University, John Carroll University and Ohio Wesleyan University. He loves books, movies, music, video games, comic books… and also basketball to seem a little less nerdy. He consumes more noodles and coffee than he should.

Dave Holmberg is the organist at Good Shepherd.

Lynn Campbell is the choir director at Good Shepherd.

Stephen Carpenter is the worship leader at Good Shepherd.

Bryan Haslett is the choir director and organist at Pleasant Hills.

Emily Kuehn is the director of music ministries at Pleasant Hills.

Ira Cooper is the Director of Music and Organist at Ridgewood United Methodist Church

Ira joined Ridgewood in 2007 following 25 years of service as Minister of Music and Organist at Grace Lutheran Church in Elyria, Ohio. Formerly he was interim organist and choir director at Westlake United Methodist Church.

Ira received his Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Findlay University and went on to earn his Master of Church Music from Concordia University in River Forest, Illinois. He recently retired from the Lorain City Schools where he taught choir at General Johnnie Wilson Middle School and acted as Assistant Band Director at Lorain Southview High School.

In addition to serving as music director for the Lorain County Community Chorale’s annual “Messiah” presentations in the past, he has also been music director for Elyria Summer Theater, Lorain Community Music Theater and Bay Village’s Huntington Playhouse to round out his musical theater experience.

Ira has been a member of a variety of professional music associations, including the Ohio Music Educators Association, American Choral Directors Association, Lorain County Chapter American Guild of Organists, Lorain Education Association and Association of Lutheran Musicians, and
was active in the Lorain County Arts Council.

Ira has a real passion for service planning and service playing, which sparked his interest in writing countless psalm tones, antiphons, introits, organ improvisations for hymn stanzas, choir descants and hymn concertos for the church services. All of his compositions remain unpublished.

At Ridgewood, he hopes, through music and fellowship, to open the eyes, hearts and minds of the worshipping body in order to gain a closer glimpse of the beauty and warmth of Jesus the Christ. He is a true asset to the music ministry at Ridgewood!

Penny Asturi is the administrator at Good Shepherd.

Laura Fiffick is the administrator at Pleasant Hills.

Mary Cain is the administrator at Ridgewood.

Jessica Smith is the Bookkeeper for the parish.

Tony is the custodian and building maintenance person at Pleasant Hills and Ridgewood.

Jonathan is the custodian at Good Shepherd.
